Turn 1

The Allies open with a variant of the "Med Strategy":
North Atlantic - Courageous, Renown, Repulse, 2x117
North Sea - Eagle, 5x444
South Atlantic - Ark Royal, Hood, 4x117
Med - 2x553, 5x443, 2x117, Glorious, LBA

The Axis respond by having the Italian fleet sortie in the Med and most of the Germans going to the North Atlantic:
Barents - Lutzow
North Atlantic - Scharnhorst, Gneisenau, Hipper, Blucher, Graf Spee(sr) and Scheer(sr)
Med - 2x466, 4x435, 4x117, LBA

In the North Atlantic, both the Spee and Scheer fail their speed rolls. The Courageous disables the Scharnhorst, and in the first round of surface combat, the British damage (4 points) and disable the Gneisenau. The Germans manage to sink both the Renown and Repulse in their first round, however, and the surviving British flee. Not wishing to see a pair of 5's take away 3 POC, the Germans reluctantly let them go.

In the Med, Allied air disables the Cavour and the Axis air misses. In the first round of combat, the Vittorio Veneto, Littorio and Pola all sink, the Doria is disabled, and the Cesare takes 1 point of damage. In return, the Italians damage and disable the Rodney (5 points), Nelson (1 point), and damage the Ramillies (2 points). The surviving Italians flee and the British are too slow to pursue in strength.

Ships sunk this turn: Littorio, Vittorio Veneto, Pola, Renown, Repulse
Ships damaged this turn: Gneisenau[4], Cesare[1], Rodney[5], Nelson[1], Ramillies[2]

Sea Areas Controlled:
Axis: Barents, North Atlantic = 5 POC
Allies: North Sea, South Atlantic, Med = 3 POC

Axis lead is +2 POC

Turn 2

At the end of the first turn, the Axis decide not to attempt to oil the Hipper and Blucher. The British capitalize on the favorable loss ratio in the Med to base the Royal Sovereign in England.

Allied Turn 2 Deployment:
South Atlantic - Eagle, Norfolk
North Sea - Warspite, Barham, Malaya, Queen Elizabeth, Royal Sovereign, Courageous
North Atlantic - Hood, PoW, KGV, Valiant, Ark Royal, Formidable, Suffolk, Sussex, Exeter, Cumberland
Med - Nelson[1], Ramillies[2], Revenge, Royal Oak, Resolution, Glorious, Kent, Devonshire, Dorsetshire
Malta - Rodney repairs 2 points of damage and now has 3 points
Italy - LBA

The Axis hide and repair damage:
Germany - Gneisenau, repairs 4 points of damage and is now undamaged
Baltic - Prinz Eugen
Barents - Rest of German fleet and U-boats
Italy - 3x117's, 4x435's (Cesare repairs 1 point of damage and is now undamaged)
Med - LBA

Both sides' LBA is ineffective.

Axis Control: Barents, Baltic = 3 POC
Allied Control: North Sea, North Atlantic, South Atlantic, Med = 4 POC
Allies gain 1 POC and reduce the Axis lead to +1 POC

Turn 3

No Russians appear.

The Allies deploy as follows:
North Atlantic - PoW, KGV, DoY, Convoy 1A, Ark Royal, Victorious, Courageous, Valiant, Suffolk, Devonshire, Dorsetshire, Cumberland
North Sea - Warspite, Queen Elizabeth, Barham, Malaya, Royal Sovereign, Eagle, Sussex
South Atlantic - Hood, Formidable, Exeter, Norfolk
Med - Nelson[1], Ramillies[2], Revenge, Royal Oak, Resolution, Glorious, Kent, LBA
Malta - Rodney repairs 2 points of damage, now at 1 point

The Axis counter by contesting the Med and North Sea:
Baltic - Prinz Eugen
Barents - Blucher and 5 U-boats
North Sea - Bismarck, Tirpitz, Scharnhorst, Gneisenau, Graf Spee, Lutzow, Admiral Scheer, Admiral Hipper
Med - 4x435's, 3x117's, LBA

The combat results mirror the first turn, as in the Med, the Caio Duilio and Giulio Cesare are sunk, while the Revenge takes 2 damage points and the Nelson takes 4 (bringing her to 5 total). The rest of the Italians flee. In the North Sea, however, the tables are again turned as Axis sink the Malaya, Barham, Warspite, Queen Elizabeth and Eagle, and damage and disable the Royal Sovereign (2 points), while the British put 1 point of damage into the Admiral Scheer and 9 points into the Tirpitz. At the end of the turn, the Allies base the Revenge[2] and Royal Oak in England. Convoy 1A does not land in England, meaning it must move to the Barents next turn.

Ships sunk this turn - Duilio, Cesare, Warspite, Malaya, Barham, Queen Elizabeth, Eagle

Ships damaged this turn - Tirpitz[9], Scheer[1], Nelson[4] (for a total of 5), Royal Sovereign[2], Revenge[2]

Sea Areas Controlled:
Axis: Baltic, Barents, North Sea = 6 POC
Allies: North Atlantic, South Atlantic, Med = 3 POC

Axis go up +3 POC for a current lead of +4 POC

Turn 4

The British get no help from their "Allies" this turn.
Barents - Hood, Ark Royal, Victorious, Anson(made sr), Convoy 1A, Sussex, Suffolk, Kent, Exeter, Devonshire, Dorsetshire
North Sea - Revenge[2], Royal Sovereign[2], Royal Oak, Valiant, Courageous
North Atlantic - PoW, KGV, DoY, Convoy 2B, Formidable, Cumberland
South Atlantic - Glorious, Norfolk
Med - Rodney[1], Nelson[5], Ramillies[2], Resolution
Italy - LBA

The Axis respond by sending the bulk of the German fleet to the North Sea:
Baltic - Admiral Scheer[1]
Barents - LBA
Med - 7xU-boats
Italy - Andrea Doria, Conte di Cavour, Zara, Gorizia, Fiume
Germany - Tirpitz (repairs 8 points of damage, 1 remaining)
North Sea - Bismarck, Scharnhorst, Gneisenau, Graf Spee, Lutzow, Admiral Hipper, Prinz Eugen, Blucher, Graf Zeppelin

British dice in the Med remain hot as the 4 BB's sink 2 U-boats and disable a third, but the remaining 4 sink the Ramillies. Both sides' LBA are again ineffectual, but the carrier action in the North Sea is not. The Courageous puts 5 points of damage into the Scharnhorst and the Graf Zeppelin disables the Revenge[2]. The surface action again sees the British unable to sink a German surface ship, as the Valiant and Royal Sovereign are sunk, Gneisenau damaged (3 points) and disabled, and the Bismarck and Royal Oak disabled. In the pursuit, Courageous is sunk.

Ships sunk this turn - Ramillies, Royal Sovereign, Valiant, Courageous, 2xU-boats
Ships damaged this turn - Scharnhorst[5], Gneisenau[3]

Sea Areas Controlled
Axis: North Sea, Baltic = 4 POC
Allies: Barents, North Atl., South Atl., Convoy 1A to Russia = 6 POC

The Axis lead is cut to +2 POC.

Turn 5

The British finally get some help from their Allies, as Marat and Texas join the fray:
Baltic - Marat
Barents - Convoy 2B, Ark Royal, Victorious, Hood, Anson, Sussex, Suffolk, Devonshire, Dorsetshire
North Atlantic - Texas, Exeter, Cumberland, Illustrious
South Atlantic - PoW, KGV, Norfolk, Formidable
North Sea - Glorious, Royal Oak, Revenge[2], DoY, Howe, Kent
Med - Rodney[1], Resolution, LBA
England - Nelson (repairs 5 points of damage)

The Axis respond as follows:
Baltic - Tirpitz[1], Admiral Scheer[1]
Barents - LBA
North Sea - 7x U-boats
Med - Conte di Cavour, Andrea Doria
South Atlantic - Bismarck, Graf Spee, Graf Zeppelin, Admiral Hipper, Blucher, Prinz Eugen, Zara, Gorizia, Fiume
Germany - Scharnhorst (repairs 3 points of damage), Gneisenau (repairs 5 points of damage), Lutzow (failed speed roll)

Allied ASW in the North Sea disables 2 U-boats, but the rest gang up on Glorious and sink her. Axis LBA is again ineffective in the Barents, and Convoy 2B makes port. In the Med, Allied LBA disables Conte di Cavour, and then Rodney and Andrea Doria sink eachother, leaving Resolution in control. In the Baltic, Marat disables Tirpitz[1], but the Germans sink the Marat in return. In the South Atlantic, both carriers miss, but in the ensuing surface combat the Germans sink all 4 British ships, suffering 4 points of damage to the Bismarck (which is disabled to neutral port) in return. The Axis ships in the South Atlantic base in France.

Ships sunk this turn: Andrea Doria, Marat, Glorious, Formidable, Rodney, KGV, PoW, Norfolk
Ships damaged this turn: Bismarck (4 points)

Areas controlled:
Allies: Med, Barents, North Atlantic, Convoy 2B to Russia = 6 POC
Axis: Baltic, South Atlantic = 4 POC

The Axis lead is cut by 2. The POC are now even.

Turn 6

The British get help from both Allies again this turn.

Allied deployment:
Baltic - October Revolution
Barents - Suffolk, Sussex
North Sea - Ark Royal, Duke of York, Howe, Revenge[2]
North Atlantic - Convoy 3C, Illustrious, Washington, Texas, Anson (made speed roll), Augusta, Tuscaloosa, Exeter, Kent
South Atlantic - Victorious, Hood, Nelson, Royal Oak, Devonshire, Dorsetshire, Cumberland
Med - Resolution, LBA

Axis deployment:
Baltic - 2 U-boats
Barents - 5 U-boats, LBA
North Sea - Tirpitz[1], Scheer[1], Lutzow, Spee, Scharnhorst, Gneisenau, Hipper, Eugen, Blucher, Zeppelin
Med - Impero, Cavour, Zara, Fiume, Gorizia
Italy - Bismarck[4] (failed speed roll to Med)

Allied ASW in ineffective, and in return the U-boats sink the Suffolk. Both sides' LBA is ineffective, but carrier air is not, as the Ark Royal disables both the Scharnhorst and Gneisenau, and puts 3 more points of damage into the Tirpitz. The Graf Zeppelin puts 4 points of damage into the Howe. In surface combat, the results of previous turns are not repeated, as in the Med, the Italians sink the Resolution and only suffer 1 point of damage to the Gorizia in return. In the North Sea, the British are finally able to sink German ships, as the Eugen, Blucher and Lutzow all go down, followed by the Duke of York and Revenge. Howe[4] and Ark Royal are disabled.

Ships sunk this turn: Lutzow, Prinz Eugen, Blucher, Duke of York, Revenge, Resolution, Suffolk
Ships damaged this turn: Gorizia[1], Tirpitz[4] (3 this turn), Howe[4]

Sea Areas Controlled:
Axis - North Sea, Med = 5 POC
Allies - North Atlantic, South Atlantic = 2 POC
Axis go up 3 POC

Axis lead by +3 POC

Turn 7

The New York and October Revolution sail.

Allies deploy as follows:
Barents - Convoy 3C, Illustrious, Victorious, Hood, Dorsetshire, Devonshire, Cumberland
Baltic - October Revolution
North Atlantic - Washington, New York, Texas, Augusta, Tuscaloosa
North Sea - Nelson, Howe[4], Kent, Exeter
South Atlantic - Ark Royal, Anson, Royal Oak, Sussex
Med - LBA

The Axis respond:
Barents - LBA
Baltic - 7 U-boats
North Sea - Tirpitz[4], Admiral Scheer[1], Graf Spee, Scharnhorst, Gneisenau, Admiral Hipper, Graf Zeppelin
Med - Impero, Roma, Conte di Cavour, Zara, Fiume, Gorizia[1]
Italy - Bismarck (repairs all 4 damage points)

The October Revolution sinks a U-boat but is sunk by the remaining subs. Both sides' LBA is ineffective (and Convoy 3C makes port safely), but the Graf Zeppelin finishes her work from last turn, sinking the Howe. In surface combat in the North Sea, Nelson damages (2 points) and disables the Scharnhorst, and the Germans sink Nelson and Exeter and disable Kent in return.

Ships sunk this turn - Nelson, Howe, Exeter, October Revolution, 1 U-boat
Ships damaged this turn - Scharnhorst[2]

Sea Areas controlled this turn:
Allies - Barents, North Atlantic, South Atlantic, Convoy 3C to Russia = 6 POC
Axis - North Sea, Med = 5 POC
Allies cut the Axis lead by a point

Axis now is ahead by 2 POC

Turn 8

Wichita joins the fray. All the surviving Italian ships abandon the Axis cause, with Conte di Cavour and Fiume defecting to the Allies, and the rest scuttling. Heavy attrition forces the Allies to spread thin:

Med - Conte di Cavour, Fiume, LBA
North Atlantic - Washington, New York, Texas, Augusta, Tuscaloosa, Wichita
North Sea - Royal Oak, Ark Royal, Cumberland, Kent
Barents - Hood, Victorious, Devonshire, Dorsetshire
South Atlantic - Anson, Illustrious, Sussex

The Axis respond as follows:
Med - Bismarck, LBA
North Atlantic - 4 U-boats
North Sea - Tirpitz[4], Scharnhorst[2], Gneisenau, Graf Spee, Admiral Hipper, Graf Zeppelin
Baltic - Admiral Scheer[1]
South Atlantic - 3 U-boats

ASW for the Allies is mixed, as the US Atlantic Fleet sinks 2 U-boats and disables the other 2, but the British ASW in the South Atlantic is ineffectual, as is the U-boats' return fire. Both sides' LBA is again ineffective, but the carrier arm is not, as the Graf Spee is disabled and the Royal Oak takes 2 points of damage. Surface combat sees the German navy once again triumphant as Bismarck defeats both the defecting Italian ships, disabling Conte di Cavour and sinking Fiume, but not before the cruiser puts 3 points of damage into the Bismarck. In the North Sea, only the charmed Ark Royal escapes (disabled), as the Royal Oak, Kent and Cumberland go down, taking with them the last of the German heavy cruisers, Admiral Hipper.

Ships sunk this turn - Royal Oak, Kent, Cumberland, Fiume, Admiral Hipper, 2 U-boats
Ships damaged this turn - Bismarck[3]

Sea Areas controlled this turn:
Allies - Barents, North Atlantic = 2 POC
Axis - Baltic, North Sea, Med = 6 POC
Axis lead increases to 6 POC

With the bid, Axis win with a 7 POC margin.
